The suspension of masses will have a significant effect on our parish finances without regular weekly income from planned giving and presbytery (loose) collections. As an example, income derived from the weekend masses last year during the six month period 01.04.19 to 31.10.19 totalled $91,718.40 (envelopes $61,830.85, loose $29,887.55), therefore, we now face a considerable loss of revenue over the coming months should we not put something in place in the interim.
The parish finance committee has decided to restrict spending on building maintenance programs to emergency matters only, while staff wages will be reduced as sacramental programs and the like are put on hold.
To minimise the loss of our weekly income we ask that parishioners endeavour to continue making regular contributions by:
- Putting envelopes through the post slot in the front door of the presbytery at 47 Foster St
- EFT payments to the parish account:
- BSB: 083879
- Account no: 489168836
- Account Name: St Mary’s Cathedral Parish Sale
- Use Envelope number and Surname as payment reference
Complete a direct debit authority form, enclosed if you are not currently making online payments, to pay either weekly, fortnightly or monthly from your personal bank account or credit card. Forms are available from the parish office or by contacting the parish secretary on 0403 857 977 (9am – 3pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday).
